On the invitation of the Government of Uzbekistan, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri participated in the International Conference on Afghanistan hosted at Tashkent on July 26, 2022 to explore, discuss and figure out the possible ways and means for addressing the current economic and security challenges of Afghanistan.

The 2nd Training workshop for Disaster Risk transfer through Insurance Authorities virtually hosted by the Central Insurance of I.R. Iran (CII) was held at the ECO Secretariat on July 19, 2022. The meeting was attended the delegation from Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Uzbekistan and Republic of Türkiye. Moreover, the relevant ECO officials also attended the meeting.

The 1st Working Group Meeting of the Expert for finalization of Data Element of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), was hosted, virtually, by the ECO Secretariat on 19th July 2022. The delegates from Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the meeting. ECO Secretariat delegation headed by Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Seyed Mohsen Esperi, also attended the Meeting.

On July 6, 2022, the ECO Secretary General H.E Ambassador Khusrav Noziri called on the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Abdulla Aripov.

On July 6, 2022, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri had a bilateral interaction with the Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Mr. Vladimir Norov. Joining on the sidelines of the 7th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture, the two sides discussed issues of regional cooperation, opportunities and challenges in special consideration of the post-pandemic conditions.

On July 6, 2022, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Yerbol Karashukeyev. Interacting on the sidelines of 7th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture, the two sides took into account the regional cooperation on agriculture and food security issues, especially the conditions taking place in the aftermath of COVID-19.

On July 6, 2022, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, who is in Tashkent to attend 7th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture, met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Umurzakov Sardor Uktamovich.

The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, who is visiting Uzbekistan in connection with the 7th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture, met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Karimzoda Saadi Gafor on July 5, 2022. The informally held bilateral interaction was meant to discuss cooperation on agriculture and food security issues in the region.

The 7th ECO Ministerial Meeting, preceded by 6th High Level Experts Meeting (HLEM) on Agriculture, was hosted by the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent on July 5-6, 2022. Delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Türkiye, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan (Host) attended the meeting (s). The Turkish Cypriot State also participated in the meeting as an ECO Observer. The Representatives of FAO, ECO-RCC, ECOSA, and IOFS, as well as the delegation of ECO Secretariat headed by ECO Secretary General also attend the meeting (s).

The workshop jointly was organized by the Survey of Pakistan and Geological Survey of Pakistan in collaboration with Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on 5-7 July, 2022.
