The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri participated in an international conference held on May 30, 2022 in Tehran under the title of “Iran & the 30- year-old BSEC: Prospects for Cooperation”.

On May 26, 2022, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri had a bilateral interaction with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)’s Representative in Iran, Mr. Sathya Doraiswamy who visited the ECO Secretariat to explore the possibility of ECO-UNFPA cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.

Dr. Sayed Yahya Akhlaqi, Deputy Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization participated in the side event at the 78th Session of the UNESCAP Commission on "From GDP to well-being and sustainability - Means and Measures" held in a hybrid mod on May 26, 2022. The event was sponsored and hosted by the Government of New Zealand under the theme of "moving beyond GDP".

H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri, the Secretary General of ECO, participated in the 78th Session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) held in a hybrid mode on 25 May 2022. This year the Session was organized under the theme of “A common agenda to advance sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific”.

Within the framework of Brainstorming Session, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Adil Tursunov.

Within the framework of Brainstorming Session, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, H.E. Mr. Vepa Hajiyev.

Within the framework of Brainstorming Session, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Furkat Sidikov.

On the May 23, 2022, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Faruk Kaymakci who is in Tehran to attend the Brainstorming Session on ECO Reform Process.

A two-day Brainstorming Session on ECO reform process commenced on May 23, 2022 at the ECO Secretariat in Tehran. The event was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Furkat Sidikov. Other Deputies Foreign Minister and Representatives of the Member States also attended the Session. The high-level gathering, inaugurated by ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri, covered an opening and two working rounds.

On May 22, 2022 the Secretary General of ECO, H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri, while welcoming the President of ECO Trade and Development Bank, Mr. Yalcin Yuksel, appreciated the Bank and its management for financing the prioritized ECO Projects to support the monetary needs of the Member States.
