On the sidelines of the 27th Session of Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, the ECO Secretary General met with Mr. James Grabert, UNFCCC Director of Mitigation.

On November 15, 2022, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 27th Session of Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) in Sharm el-Sheikh met with H.E. Ms. Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Mr. Bahodur Sheralizoda, Chairman of Environmental Protection Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan.

On November 15, 2022, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, Amb. Khusrav Noziri on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 27th Session of Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) in Sharm el-Sheikh had a meeting with Ms. Inger Andersen Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

The 8th ECO Minerals Expert Group Meeting was held on November 13-17, 2022 in Isfahan City of Iran. The Meeting was jointly organized by the Geological Survey of Iran and the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture in collaboration with the Secretariat of Economic Cooperation Organization.

On November 9, 2022, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Norov held a telephonic conversation on November 8, 2022.

An ECO delegation headed by the Secretary General ECO, Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, and comprising Deputy Secretary General (AIT) and officials of Trade & Investment Directorate, visited the office of the ECO-CCI, Tehran on 8th November, 2022. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Gholamhossein Shafei, President of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture (ICCIMA)/President ECO-CCI. He was accompanied by Dr. Sama Farkhondenejhad, the Secretary General ECO-CCI.

On November 8, 2022, Head of the International Economic Cooperation Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Silapberdi Nurberdiev along with Ambassador of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Mr. Ahmed Gurbanov visited ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri in connection with the preparations for the upcoming Meeting of ECO Council of Ministers (COM), as well as to discuss possible areas of cooperation between ECO and Turkmenistan.

The 2nd High Level Working Group (HLWG) Meeting on Istanbul–Almaty and Bandar Abbas–Almaty Railway Corridors was held virtually on November 7, 2022. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the railway authorities from the en-route countries (the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Türkiye), as well as the Secretary General of the Intergovernmental Organization for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF) and high level representative of the UNECE.

On November 2, 2022, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri held a Videoconference with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov. The interaction was aimed at discussing issues and the prospects of cooperation in the region, as well as exploring ways and means for creating more synergies amongst the Member States to facilitate smooth implementation of the ECO agenda.
