The Secretary General expressed deep concerns over the emerging global conflicts, giving special attention to the recent unrest and skirmishes in border areas of some ECO Member States.

The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri participated as an observer in the opening of the seventy-seventh Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations held on September 20, 2022 in New York.

The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri participated in the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held under the Chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan on September 15-16, 2022 in Samarkand.

The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri is visiting the Republic of Uzbekistan in order to participate in the 22nd Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to be held on 15-16 September 2022 in Samarkand. On the sidelines of the visit, the ECO Secretary General had a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Aziz Abdukhamidov.

The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri is visiting the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with attending the 22nd Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) scheduled to be held at Samarkand on September 15 – 16, 2022. On the sidelines of his visit, the ECO Secretary General had a bilateral interaction with the UN Undersecretary General and the Executive Secretary of the UNESCAP, H.E. Ms. Armida Salasiah Alisjahbana.

Meeting of the ECO Tourism Transport Task Force was held in virtual format on 12 September, 2022 under the chairmanship of ECO Secretariat. The event was attended by delegates from the Tourism and Transport Ministries of Azerbaijan, Iran, Pakistan and Türkiye.

The Delegation of ECO Secretariat took part in hybrid mode in the 5th Steering Committee Meeting of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC) convened by United Nations Industrial Development Organization from 5 to 8 September 2022. The event brought together representatives from the centres, core donors and technical partners to discuss updates on the activities of the centres and create a "makerspace" for new initiatives, projects, events and activities.
