An ECO delegation participated in the 28th National Conference and Exhibition on Geomatics Engineering, hosted by the National Cartographic Center of Iran (NCC) in Tehran, held from April 28 – May 1, 2024.
During the event’s opening ceremony, Dr. Ali Javidaneh, Director General of the National Cartographic Center, delivered a presentation, focusing on coastal and offshore hydrography platforms in the Persian Gulf and the use of UAVs for mapping. The NCC also highlighted its endeavors to export technical and engineering services.
Discussions between the ECO Secretariat and NCC officials revolved around enhancing cooperation in cartography, surveying and mapping within the ECO region. Both sides stressed the importance of continued meetings and capacity-building events to stimulate collaboration and exchange best practices.
