The Third Summit Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in Islamabad on 14-15 March, 1995. The Meeting was attended by H.E. Professor Burhanuddin Rabbani, President of the Islamic State of Afghanistan, H.E. Mr. Hassan Hassanov, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Mr. Nigmadjan Isingarin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Askar Akaev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmonov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Suleyman Demirel, President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Saparmurad Niyazov, President of Turkmenistan and H.E. Mr. Saidmuhtar Saidkasimov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Meeting was also attended by H.E. Mr. Shamshad Ahmad, Secretary General of ECO. H.E. Dr. Hamid Al-Gabid, Secretary General of OIC, and H.E. Mr. Rafeeuddin Ahmed, Personal Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations also representing ESCAP, UNDP and UNDCP and Mr. Richard Reid, Director Public Affairs of UNICEF participated in the Meeting as special guests.
