The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Ambassador Khusrav Noziri held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) to discuss potential areas of cooperation.
The meeting was held on June 2, 2024, on the sidelines of the 12th Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During the meeting, Ambassador Noziri briefed Dr. Al-Malik on the activities of the ECO in the areas of science, culture and education and proposed the possibility of signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ECO’s specialized bodies and ICESCO to institutionalize cooperation.
The Director General of ICESCO supported the proposal and suggested conducting concrete joint projects in these fields. The two sides also agreed to collaborate on promoting ECO Tourism Capitals and ICESCO Cultural Capitals through establishing links between them.
