Ms. Maryam Javan Shahraki, the representative of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) field office, Tehran paid a courtesy call to H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, the ECO Secretary General on 19th October, 2022 in the ECO Secretariat. A delegation of ECO comprising Deputy Secretary General (AIT), Seyed Mohsen Esperi and the relevant directors also participated in the discussions.

A delegation of ECO comprising Deputy Secretary General (AIT), Seyed Mohsen Esperi and the relevant directors also participated in the discussions.
H.E the Secretary General appreciated the role played by the UNIDO in promoting sustainable economic development in the region. The contribution of the UNIDO and its continued collaboration with the ECO in implementing the multi-year ECO-UNIDO Trade Capacity Building Project was discussed with a view to initiate for implementation of its fourth phase. Moreover, the ongoing collaboration of the UNIDO in the ECO Green Energy Centre and the industrial sector were also highlighted for furtherance.
The representative of the UNIDO emphasized that the UNIDO is looking forward to support the projects in the areas of technical assistance, consultancy and building coordination/ national hubs in different fields such as Agriculture & Industry, Trade & Investment, Energy & Environment, to undertake the priority projects. She also apprised H.E the S.G about the upcoming High Level Conference of UNIDO scheduled to be held in Vienna in December 2022 in which the UNIDO will invite him and his delegation representing priority areas for participation.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from H.E the S.G for the visits of the representative of UNIDO.
