On November 9, 2022, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The interaction was aimed at discussing the issues and prospects of regional cooperation, as well as reviewing the status of preparations of the 26th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers (COM) scheduled for December 1, 2022 in Tashkent.
Underscoring the importance of the upcoming COM event which is going to mark the 30th Anniversary of the ECO enlargement, the ECO Secretary General desired the Member States to ensure their Minister-level participation in the meeting. Talking about the regional issues and cooperation, he commended the invaluable contribution of Iran in developing and promoting the agenda of the Organization. As host of the ECO Secretariat, the receptive and welcoming approach of Iran is also noted with deep appreciation by all Member States, the Secretary General enunciated.
The honourable Minister reaffirmed Iran’s commitment, assuring the country’s continued cooperation to support the ECO and its agenda with a view to ensuring greater connectivity and integration in the region.
