A 2-days International Workshop on “Trafficking in Persons and Human Smuggling in ECO region”, jointly organized by the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), concluded today.

The workshop brought together experts and officials from ECO Member States, IOM and other UN bodies who made country presentations sharing their experiences, challenges, and best practices in combating trafficking in

persons and smuggling of migrants.

A working group session formulated recommendations for enhanced regional cooperation, capacity building, and information sharing to address these complex issues.

ECO Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Kashif Zaman and OSCE Special Representative, Ms. Madina Jarbussynova made closing remarks emphasizing the importance of collective efforts and regional cooperation in eradicating human trafficking and smuggling.

Certificates of participation were distributed among the delegates in recognition of their engagement and contributions to the workshop.

The workshop demonstrated ECO’s commitment to addressing transnational crimes and promoting regional stability and security.
