The 289th Meeting of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR) was held on September 10, under the chairmanship of Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ambassador Seyed Jalaledin Alavi Sabzevari.
Welcoming the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Asad M. Khan, and Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Silapberdi Nurberdiyev at their CPR first meeting, the Council expressed their strong support to the Secretariat for pursuing the Organization’s objectives through closer cooperation among the Member States.
In his remarks, Secretary General Asad M. Khan outlined his vision for enhanced regional cooperation within the ECO framework, identifying opportunities, as well as challenges for the Organization and the regional economic prospects.
The meeting then discussed various issues on its agenda, including upcoming important ECO events later in the year.
