Upon the request of the INTERPOL Organization an online meeting was held between Amb. Jandos Asanov, ECO Deputy Secretary General and Acting Executive Director for Partnerships and Planning of INTERPOL, Ms. Roraima Ana Andriani on November 23, 2022.

The main objective of the meeting was to brief the ECO Secretariat about the requisite for convening the Dialogue Working Group (DWG) on Strategic Aspects of the Global Policing Architecture as well as to inform the agenda of the Dialogue on an Effective Multilateral Policing Architecture against Global Threats which is going to take place on 8-9 December 2022 in New York.

While thanking the INTERPOL for organizing the bilateral call, DSG J.Asanov briefly introduced the Economic Cooperation Organization and its main areas of activities as well as potentials of the ECO Region for cooperation among its members. He further added that the ECO Member States also have an effective agenda towards security and police cooperation.

Ms. Andriani while briefing the ECO Secretariat about the agenda of the New York meeting updated that during the first day of the meeting, the participants will share their views on strategic architecture and the place of the global policing goals and will entrust the working groups to develop a global policing architecture. She further added that during the second day of the meeting, the recommendations of the regional police organizations on strategic aspects of global policing architecture will be discussed.

By the end of the meeting, INTERPOL invited the ECO Secretariat to participate to the Dialogue on an Effective Multilateral Policing Architecture against Global Threats which is going to take place on 8-9 December 2022 in New York. She also informed DSG Asanov that necessary documents in this regard will be shared with the Secretariat in due course.
