ECO Secretariat hosts 5th Consultation Meeting of Heads of ECO Specialised Agencies

On October 17, 2022, ECO Secretariat organized the 5^th Consultation Meeting among the Heads of ECO Specialized Agencies in virtual format.The ECO Secretariat was represented by Ambassador Dr. Hüseyin Avni Bicakli, Deputy Secretary General and Mr. Alim Ullah, Head of Section for International Relations.

Prof. M. Akif Kireçci, Prof. Seyed Komail Tayebi, and H. E. Mr. Bubriboev Murodjon Khayrulloevich represented the ECO Educational Institute, ECO Science Foundation, and ECO Cultural Institute respectively.
While making the opening remarks, the Deputy Secretary General, welcomed the participants of the meeting and highlighted that the basic object behind this forum was to create a strong network of relations among ECO Specialised Agencies and to learn from the best practices and experience of other Specialized Agencies.
During the meeting, the Presidents of the each ECO Specialised Agencies apprised their counterparts of the activities undertaken by their respective Institutes. It was agreed among the Heads of Specialised Agencies that a catalogue of common challenges confronted by these bodies would be prepared and a coherent strategy would be devised to overcome them. The expansion membership of these bodies and their financial matters also came under limelight. A mechanism to ensure better coordination was also agreed upon among the Heads of Specialised Agencies.

The 6^th Consultation Meeting among Heads of ECO Specialised Agencies will be held on the margins of the upcoming 26^th Meeting ECO Council of Ministers (CoM) on November 30-December 1, 2022 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
