On the invitation of the Kyrgyz Ambassador to Iran, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri attended a ceremony organized at the ECO Cultural Institute on May 15, 2022 to mark the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kyrgyz Republic.
In his remarks, the ECO Secretary General underlined the importance of the event to strengthen the existing diplomatic ties between the two countries. He stated that given their significance being valued members of the ECO, the Organizations continues to look at Iran-Kyrgyz developing linkage, especially in the context of their growing economic partnership which is regarded broadly supportive for the ECO’s mutual agenda of regional development. Noting the event’s magnitude, he encouraged other ECO Member States to consider the observance of such celebrations that, he believed, could pave the ways for enhancing multilateral activism in the region.
