The ECO Secretary General, Amb. Khusrav Noziri delivered a video statement during an International Conference “Dialogue ,“ Guarantee of Peace”, held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on December 11, 2022.
In his remarks, the ECO Secretariat highlighted that the cooperative dialogue process was unavoidably important for perpetual peace on the earth. He noted that there was an absolute link between peace and progress, adding that without peace the idea of progress remains impracticable. Mobilizing the international community for an amicable environment is a genuine need of the time to secure sustainable peace, harmony and solidarity amongst the nations, the ECO Secretary General underscored. He appreciated Turkmenistan and the United Nations’ Office in Turkmenistan for organizing this crucial event.
Ambassador Noziri, while acknowledging the importance of Turkmenistan as a very vital Member of the ECO, expressed his pleasure over the country’s constantly increasing role and contribution to support and create conducive conditions for the continued promotion of global peace and trust.
During the event, the message of the UN Secretary General, H.E. Mr. António Guterres was also read. In his message, the UN Secretary General reiterated the significance of dialogue for peace, commending Turkmenistan’s role to strengthen international cooperation for global peace and trust.
The Conference was chaired by H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov, the honourable Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
