As part of his visit to Istanbul to attend the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of ECO Trade and Development Bank (ETDB), the ECO Secretary General Amb. Khusrav Noziri held a meeting with the ETDB’s President Mr. Yalçin Yüksel on June 22, 2022.
Exploring various ways and means of economic cooperation for sustainable regional development, the meeting emphasized the importance of ETDB and the need for increasing its role and place to support the implementation of various ECO projects. It was particularly mentioned that the mandate given by highest ECO leadership, most recently in the Ashgabat Consensus for Action, entrust the ECO and ETDB to be more actively engaged to ensure smooth implementation of ECO projects for developing capacity and regional infrastructure and making the region more attractive for transit, trade and investment.
The Secretary General also briefed the President on preparations being made in connection with holding the 27th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers and the 16th Summit later this year, to be respectively hosted by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The highest ECO forums will review the activities of the Organization in special consideration of its project-oriented approach, he noted.
