On November 2, 2022, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri held a Videoconference with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov. The interaction was aimed at discussing issues and the prospects of cooperation in the region, as well as exploring ways and means for creating more synergies amongst the Member States to facilitate smooth implementation of the ECO agenda.

The interaction was aimed at discussing issues and the prospects of cooperation in the region, as well as exploring ways and means for creating more synergies amongst the Member States to facilitate smooth implementation of the ECO agenda.
The ECO Secretary General briefed the honourable Minister about the preparations being made in connection with holding the 26th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers (COM) in Tashkent. Underscoring the significance of the event in view of the fact that it is going to mark the 30th Anniversary of the ECO Enlargement, he emphasized and encouraged all Member States to ensure their Minister-Level participation in the meeting. Valuing the role of Turkmenistan as ECO Chair in 2021, he thanked the honourable Minister for his excellent contribution to enrich the agenda of the Organization. The Secretary General also acknowledged the importance of Ashgabat Consensus for Action adopted by honourable ECO Heads of State/Government during 15th ECO Summit in Ashgabat.
The honourable Minster appreciated the Secretary General and his team for their efforts to facilitate the holding of the 26th Meeting of COM in Tashkent. He reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s continued support to the Organization, assuring his country’s high-level participation in the upcoming COM event.
