On the sidelines of the 5th Ministerial Meeting in Tourism, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the Governor of the Ardabil province of Iran Mr. Seyed Hamed Ameli, on October 6, 2023.
The Secretary General while thanking the Ardabil province for their hospitality, noted that Ardabil is going through the year 2023 succesfully, as the ECO Tourism Capital. He highlighted that holding the 5th Ministerial Meeting on Tourism in this city has made another opportunity to strengthen the tourism potential of the province. From beautiful nature to hospitable people
Ardabil has all the necessary potential to become a tourist destination, the Secretary General added. Pointing out that 6 cities in ECO region have been selected as ECO Tourism Capitals so far, the Secretary General also noted that these cities should be connected to each other by establishing relevant network.
Welcoming the Secretary General and thanking ECO for holding various events in Ardabil, the Governor Seyed Hamed Ameli noted that the programs held in Ardabil in 2023 have been the beginning of a way, and Ardabil is ready to cooperate with ECO member countries in the field of tourism as well as holding joint events. Adding that the private sector and tour operators should be in contact, he announced the readiness of Ardabil to host other events of the ECO organization.
The meeting was held at the historical Sheikh Safi al-Din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble.
