ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with Mr. Atageldi Shamyradov, Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan on March 27, 2024.
Ambassador Noziri praised Turkmenistan’s efforts in hosting the International Conference on “The Main Directions and Opportunities of Tourism Development in Turkmenistan”, emphasizing its importance for regional tourism growth.
During the meeting, Ambassador Noziri discussed recent ECO tourism activities and extended invitations to upcoming events, including the inauguration ceremony of Shahrisabz city of Uzbekistan as the ECO Tourism Capital 2024 and the 1st ECO Tour Operators Forum. He highlighted the significance of Turkmenistan’s participation in these events for fostering regional tourism collaboration.
The parties also exchanged insights on the success of the ECO Tourism Capital initiative and the launch of a specialized ECO Tourism website to promote regional tourist destinations.
