The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour participated in the First Caspian Economic Forum on 11-12 August 2019 in National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, Turkmenistan.

The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour participated in the First Caspian Economic Forum on 11-12 August 2019 in National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, Turkmenistan.
The First Caspian Economic Forum was inaugurated by the President of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with participation of the representatives of the governments of the “Caspian Five,” Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov, First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev, as well as and Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov, and the representatives of many other countries and international organizations also attended the Forum as special guests.
The ECO Secretary General addressed the Plenary Session of the Forum held on 12 August 2019. He expressed his confidence that First Caspian Economic Forum will provide guidance and new direction to move on to the higher echelon of economic trajectory and collective uplift and well being of the region. He further underlined that the Agenda of the First Caspian Economic Forum 2019 is fully relevant to the needs of ECO region and have far-reaching impact; it touches upon the crucial economic issues and challenges the region is facing today.
He informed the plenary on the ECO potentials and priorities, including trade, transport, tourism and energy and highlights the latest achievements of Organization in 2018-2019.
