On the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri visited Pakistan to participate in the 17th Extraordinary Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation`s Council of Foreign Ministers (OIC-CFM) Meeting, held on December 19, 2021 in Islamabad.

On the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri visited Pakistan to participate in the 17th Extraordinary Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation`s Council of Foreign Ministers (OIC-CFM) Meeting, held on December 19, 2021 in Islamabad.
The Extraordinary Session of OIC-CFM was organised by the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ,“ the Summit Chair of OIC and devoted to the recent humantarian crisis in Afghanistan.
OIC Member States Ministers of Foreign Affairs, OIC Observers, as well as representatives from USA, UK, Russia, China, France, Germany, Japan, key UN Agencies took part in the event.
The meeting's participants, while expressing deep concerns over the dire humanitarian conditions in Afghanistan, appeared ready and receptive to make further efforts for addressing the urgent and essential needs of the people of the country.

During the meeting, the ECO Secretary General delivered his statement and while acknowledging the importance of peace and stability in Afghanistan reiterated ECO’s continued support to the national, regional and global efforts for reconstruction and sustainable development in Afghanistan. He also mentioned the goals and objectives specified in the ECO Advocacy Programme for Afghanistan (EAPA).
