Within the framework of his visit to Tajikistan, H.E. Khusrav Noziri, ECO Secretary General was received by H.E. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan in June 8, 2022.
ECO Secretary General congratulated Minister with successful organization of 2nd Dushanbe Water Conference and expressed gratitude on invitation of Economic Cooperation Organization to take part in the subject event.
Secretary General underlined that Organizing this significant conference is clear token that the Republic of Tajikistan as one of the valuable members of Economic Cooperation Organization, attaches great importance to international and regional development through strengthening cooperation and partnership in Sustainable Water.
Having discussed on the outcomes of recent ECO Brainstorming Meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers, Mr.Noziri recalled utmost important of ECO Member States, including Tajikistan to accelerate process of implementing signed agreements within ECO priority areas such as trade, transport, energy, agriculture, etc.
ECO Secretary General highlighted key projects in trade, transport and energy and invited Tajikistan to take more active participation in the process of implementation of transit transport corridors, ECO Regional Electricity Project, ECO Clean Energy Center, as well as ECO Trade Agreement.
Tajikistan Foreign Minister H.E. Sirojiddin Muhriddin reaffirmed its country’s firm stance on continued support in ECO activities and reiterated readiness to extend all necessary cooperation to achieve expected targets within priority areas of cooperation. Minister noted existing good neighborly relations with ECO Member States which may give additional impetus to attain goals ahead. H.E. Sirojiddin Muhriddin revealed as a one of common issue for all member states for close cooperation. Likewise, he mentioned trade and transport as a shared interest of region to galvanize ECO’s development agenda.
