The ECO Secretariat held the ECO Award distribution ceremony on December 13, 2021 at its premises. The ceremony was organized to acknowledge and award one of the winners of the ECO Award 2021, Dr. Ms. Mitra Rahnejat for her magnificent achievement in the field of Economics.
On the occasion, the ECO Secretary General, H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri, highlighted the significance of ECO Award for excellence and mentioned that awards like the ECO Award are instrumental to inspire brilliant and promising minds in the specific fields of excellence. He congratulated Dr. Rahnejat on her selection for the ECO Award and expressed his belief that the achievement of Dr. Rahnejat will provide a strong encouragement and motivation to other emerging experts especially the young professionals for enduring their efforts in the relevant fields. In response, Dr. Mitra Rahnejat thanked the ECO Secretariat for institutionalizing this prestigious Award and stated that ECO Award is a true manifestation of the endeavor of the ECO towards recognizing researchers, scientists, academicians and artists of the region for their valuable achievements and contributions in the specific fields of excellence.
The ECO Awards for excellence are conferred biennially on eminent individuals from the ECO Member States for their outstanding research work, contributions and achievements in five specific fields including economics, history and culture, science and technology, education, and agriculture and environment.
