ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Dr. Huseyin Avni Bicakli and Director of Energy, Minerals and Environment Mr.Rovshan Mirzayev paid a tribute to the commemoration event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on September 27, 2021.
The ceremony brought together representatives of diplomatic corps, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran, public figures, media and Azerbaijanis living in Iran.
Photo exhibition, devoted to the ,ک’44 day Patriotic War” and the documentary video has been screened for the participants.
ECO Deputy Secretary General in his statement extended congratulations to the Government and the people of Azerbaijan on the liberation of Azerbaijani territories as a sign of important milestone in the prevailing of peace and prosperity in the region. He also expressed condolences to the bereaved families over the martyrdom of and also wished soonest recovery wounded peoples while defending their land and civilians. While concluding his remarks, Mr.Bicakli reaffirmed significance of peace and stability for sustainable growth and progress in the region and, assured that ECO would remain ready and receptive to assist the Republic of Azerbaijan during the process of rehabilitation in its liberated territories through relevant regional projects. In collaboration with Azerbaijan and other Member States, the ECO would continue to move on the path of development for the collective betterment of the region.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Mr.Ali Alizade and former ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr.Mohsen Pakain during their key note remarks condemned the actions perpetrated against civilians, as well as aggression towards territorial integrity and sovereignty of states. Particularly, it was referred to the international documents supporting territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of states. The speakers also emphasized the importance of joint solidarity, enhanced cooperation and good neighborhood in the region as well as between Azerbaijan and Iran.
