A virtual workshop on GIS-ITIO (Geographic Information System- International Transport Infrastructure Observatory) was co-organized on May 2, 2024, by the Secretariats of the ECO and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Representatives from roads, railways and customs authorities, as well as some interested entities of the ECO Member States as well as neighboring regions participated in the workshop.
Aimed at raising technical knowledge and awareness on the GIS platform, which is jointly developed with the collaboration of ECO, UNECE, IsDB and some other stake holders, the workshop informed the participants about the technical use of GIS–ITIO platform in mapping the transport infrastructure for better planning and management.
The workshop also discussed the outline of next steps and concluded with a question-and-answer session.
