The 10th Meeting of the ECO Transit Transport Coordination Council (TTCC) was held on November 27, 2023 in Baku. The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and attended by high level representatives from the Member States including Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Turkiye, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. A delegation from Azerbaijan TIR Association (ABADA) also participated at the meeting.
The meeting discussed and reviewed status of matters related to transport connectivity in the ECO region, including the accession of ECO Member States to the Transit Transport Framework Agreement (TTFA) and other relevant International Conventions, border crossing facilitation, establishment of ECO-TIR Association Consultative Group, implementation of the Transport Geographic Information System (GIS) and ECO’s joint cooperation with UN bodies and other relevant international partners.
Speaking on the occasion, the ECO Deputy Secretary General Mr. Kashif Zaman briefed the meeting on the achievements and progress made the establishment of new corridors, establishment of ECO Air Hub in Gabala and Samarkand, establishment of ECO-TIR, and cooperation with international partners.
Mr. Bakhtiyar Maammadov, Deputy Head of Administration, Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan recounted recent developments on various areas of transport and facilitation of transit transport in the region.
The heads of delegations from the Member States also delivered statements on latest developments and progress in their respective countries.
The Meeting also endorsed the reports of the technical committees of Transit Transport Coordination Council and the Report of the 10th TTCC Meeting.
