12th Tehran International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries was held on 12-15 February 2019 in Tehran International Permanent Fairground supported by Iran Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts & Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) and Iran International Exhibition Co. (IIEC).

12th Tehran International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries was held on 12-15 February 2019 in Tehran International Permanent Fairground supported by Iran Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts & Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) and Iran International Exhibition Co. (IIEC).
In this exhibition which is the largest tourism specialized event in Iran and registered by UNWTO, 660 Iranian companies as well as 57 foreign companies from 12 countries (Travel agencies, Hotels, Banks & Insurance services , Air lines, sea lines & rail road lines and other Tourism Related Industries such as Handicrafts, arts & traditional, Free Zones, Travel & camping equipment and supplies, associations & academies, Health-Sport- Pilgrimage-Eco Tourism, guesthouses & tourist villages) were attended.
The ECO Secretariat delegation including Deputy of Secretary General H.E. Mr Huseyin Avni Bicakli, Director of Agriculture, Industry and Tourism Mr. Memduh Unal and concerned Program Officer participated in the inauguration day of this four day international Exhibition on Tuesday, 12 Feb 2019.
In his inaugural speech, Mr Aliasghar Monesan Head of the Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts & Tourism Organization with mentioning to the statistics of international tourists stated that the number of international tourists in 2017 was one billion and 323 million people, reaching a billion and 400 million in 2018. It is anticipated that there will be two billion tourists in the world by 2030 and Iran as a rich country in cultural and historical places with four season weather definitely can be one of the important destinations in this regard.
He while recalling the third place of tourism in the world economy and its effects on job creation stated that during this year 6 million foreign tourists have yet visited from Iran. He also emphasized on creating an appropriate platform in order to enhancing the relations between public and private sectors of this huge industry.
All 31 provinces of Iran and companies from Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, Indonesia, Pakistan, Germany, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Afghanistan have participated at the Tourism Fair and all the managers, investors, practitioners, employees, professors and students of the tourism industry and its affiliated industries attend this exhibition as the specialist visitors.
Director of Agriculture, Industry and Tourism and concerned Program Officer of the ECO Secretariat while visiting the various sections of the exhibition on 12 & 13 Feb 2019, had several beneficial and constructive meetings with the representatives of Tourism Private Agencies of ECO Member States, the relevant authorities of Cultural Heritage Handicrafts and Tourism of some Provinces such as Zanjan and Mazandaran.
