The 278thMeeting of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR) was held on July 31, at the ECO Headquarters.
Chaired by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ambassador Ali Alizade, the meeting discussed various issues placed on its agenda concerning the development and progress of the Organization, including preparations for the 16th ECO Summit and the 27th Council of Ministers meeting.
The Council bade a farewell to the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to ECO and Country’s Ambassador to Iran Mr. Rahim Hayat Qureshi who was supposed to leave Tehran after completion of his diplomatic assignment. The ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri and the members of CPR acknowledged, with thanks, the contribution of Ambassador Qureshi to support and develop the ECO and its agenda of regional cooperation, as well as for facilitating the CPR’s proceedings.
In his final remarks, Ambassador Qureshi thanked the ECO Secretary General and the Member States for their kind cooperation and encouragement throughout his stay in Tehran and affiliation with the Organization.
Furthermore, the Council welcomed the new Deputy Secretary General Mr. Kashef Zaman and Legal Advisor Mr. Hojjat Moghavem, congratulating them for their recent appointments to the Secretariat.
