The 2nd ECO High-Level Expert Meeting on Visa Facilitation was held virtually on 9 December 2025, with the participation of representatives from ECO Member States. The meeting highlighted the critical need for enhanced travel facilitation and seamless connectivity across the ECO region—essential components for strengthening tourism, as outlined in ECO’s strategic objectives for the sector.
Participants discussed recent initiatives undertaken by Member States to streamline tourism visa procedures. They also reviewed and contributed to the updated table of visa regimes between ECO countries, prepared by the ECO Secretariat. Additionally, attendees examined a draft document designed to serve as a comprehensive information resource for tourists, detailing visa requirements and practical travel information.
The meeting agreed that Member States will continue to provide up-to-date information on tourism visa policies and to convene future meetings with broader participation from officials directly responsible for national tourism visa decision-making.
