The 312th Meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR) of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held today at the ECO Secretariat in Tehran under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and current Chairman of the CPR, with the participation of the Permanent Representatives of the Member States and Dr. Asad M. Khan, Secretary General of ECO.
The Council considered the Strategic Goals of Economic Cooperation – 2035 to guide economic cooperation among the ECO Member States over the coming decade for submission to the 30th ECO Council of Ministers Meeting (COM) to be held in Islamabad on 15-16 November. The Council also reviewed the preparations for the upcoming 30th COM and the 18th ECO Summit, and discussed the arrangements required to ensure the successful convening of both high-level meetings.
The Council of Permanent Representatives, composed of the Permanent Representatives of the Member States accredited to ECO, meets regularly at the ECO Secretariat to oversee the implementation of the Organization’s policies and programmes and to prepare for the meetings of the Council of Ministers and the Summit.
