The 6th Meeting of Editorial Board of the ECO Economic Journal (EB-EEJ) was held on August 31, 2022. The Members of the ECO Editorial Board from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, I.R. Iran, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Tأ¼rkiye and Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the event.

The 6th Meeting of Editorial Board of the ECO Economic Journal (EB-EEJ) was held on August 31, 2022. The Members of the ECO Editorial Board from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, I.R. Iran, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Türkiye and Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the event.

The Meeting evaluated the Journal’s content and structure while finalizing the outcomes of screening and peer review processes in regard of the current volume, thereupon it concluded that the 2022 volume of ECO Economic Journal be released till end of September 2022, prior to the Ministerial.

In his inaugural remarks, H.E. Mr. Mahir Humbatov Chairman of the Board of the Economic Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan highlighted the importance of the ECO Economic Journal for the region and specifically stressed the need to regularize its activities.

Editor-in-Chief of ECO Economic Journal Dr. A. Huseynova noted that the Editorial Board is mandated with the developing success of the Journal i.e. content planning, encouraging collection, and creation of volumes as per Terms of reference of the Board. Currently, new Membership demonstrates transformative and inspirational leadership having essential academic credentials whereas the dedicated and inspiring authors from ECO Member States have contributed to the Journal via trusted research products empowering regional readership. Yet, she noted that quality of manuscripts should be further upgraded.

Deputy Secretary of ECO Ambassador J. Asanov noted that the Journal is important for regional academic economic analytics services. As such, its products would include highly specialized economic research for the core activity areas of ECO.

The Meeting concluded with the approval of the project proposal focusing on uplift of quality of manuscripts, promotion and elevation of the status of the Journal across the ECO region and at the broader international level.
