The 8th Congress of ECO Seed Association (ECOSA) was held in the city of Taraz, Kazakhstan on March 20-21, 2024. The event was jointly organised by ECOSA, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Türkiye. The official representatives of the ECO Member States participated in the event.
The programme of the event also included KazAgro Exhibition, business-to-business meetings and cultural content.
Speaking at the congress ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Jandos Asanov said that 15th and 16th summits of heads of states and government ECO Member States held in 2021 and 2023 elevated the objective of ensuring the food security in the region as a top priority. DSG Asanov thanked Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture and local authorities in Taraz for warm welcome and excellent arrangements.
Ambassador Asanov was also invited as an observer to the 3rd meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of the Turkic States held on March 20, 2024 in Taraz.
On the sidelines of the event DSG Asanov conversed with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ambassador Kubanichbek Omuraliev, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Aidarbek Saparov and Governor of the Jambyl Region of Kazakhstan Mr. Erbol Karashukeev.
