Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, Secretary General Economic Cooperation Organization, held a bilateral meeting with Prof. Mehmet Akif KİREÇCİ, President of the ECO-Educational Institute (ECOEI), on the sidelines of the Fourth Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the ECO Educational Institute on August 4, 2023 in Istanbul.
Ambassador Noziri, while congratulating the ECOEI for signing Host Country Agreement with the Government of the Republic of Türkiye, appreciated the Institute for featuring in high-level events organized under the framework of the ECO. Furthermore, while touching upon the increasing importance of educational and scientific cooperation amongst ECO Member States, he highlighted the commendable and indispensable role of the Educational Institute in assisting the Organization in advancing its agenda of multifaceted regional cooperation. He also appreciated the endeavors of the Institute to enhance its digital footprints and augment its visibility. Keeping in view the looming challenge of climate change and its attendant consequences, the Secretary General proposed holding joint worshops on disaster risk management; he also proposed that the ECOEI might create short documentaries and animation videos on climate change to raise awareness about climate change especially among the youth of the ECO region.
On behalf of the ECO, Ambassador Noziri expressed readiness to extend all sorts of possible assistance to the Institute to carry out its mandated tasks.
