The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri visited the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Tehran, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Gurbanov on September 6, 2021.
Ambassador Ahmet Gurbanov welcomed the Secretary General and felicitated him for his new responsibilities. He underscored the importance of the organization for pushing the overall process of socioeconomic development in the region. Ambassador Gurbanov noted that Turkmenistan is well-determined to advance the agenda of the Organization and achieve the developmental targets as envisaged in the ECO Vision 2025.
ECO Secretary General thanked the Ambassador for the warm receptivity and acknowledged his kind consideration about the region. He said that under Turkmenistan Chairmanship and active engagements of all Member States, the ECO would continue to make accelerated progress for the shared progress and prosperity in the region.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed, inter alia, the ways and means of developing mutual cooperation, as well as took into account the preparatory arrangements concerning the forthcoming ECO Summit and the 25th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers to be hosted by Turkmenistan during the last week of November in Ashgabat.
