Mr. Mostafa Mohaghegh, Senior Coordinator for Asian and Pacific Centre for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) visited ECO Deputy Secretary General Mr. Kashif Zaman on August 14, 2023. The interaction discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between the two organizations.
Mr. Zaman, while appreciating APDIM’s role in design and effective implementation of disaster risk reduction policies, noted that ECO is keen to further enhance its collaboration with APDIM through the latter’s sharing of knowledge, expertise and the best practices in disaster risk reduction and disaster information management. Mr. Mohaghegh underscored the importance of continued cooperation between the two organizations. He stressed upon the need for creating better understanding of the issue of climate change and its damaging effects among the policy makers and their greater accommodation in national development programs of ECO member states. He also expressed willingness to organize workshops in collaboration with ECO for sharing of knowledge and expertise.
