The National Accountability Bureau of Pakistan (NAB) hosted the virtually organized First Meeting of the General Assembly of State Parties to the ECO Regional Center for Cooperation of Anti-corruption Agencies and Ombudsmen (RCCACO) on September 21, 2023.
Chaired by NAB’s Director General Dr. Hussain Ahmad, the event was attended by participants from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well as ECO Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Jandos Asanov.
The participants discussed basic ways and means of ensuring early and full operationalization of the RCCACO. Besides, they exchanged views on their national achievements and best practices against corruption and other associated issues. Moreover, the meeting also noted the individual and collective activities of the Member States with regard to the functioning of RCCACO and its headquarters in Tehran, establishment of which is expected in 2024.
