ECO Director for Human Resources and Sustainable Development (HRSD), Dr. Husnu Tekin virtually participated in the Asia pacific Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (APP-DRR) on September 20, 2023.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Tekin acknowledged the importance of the Forum given its mandate and magnitude to fuel, combine and push the efforts for disaster risk reduction at greater level. Underlining the relevant priorities of ECO Vision-2025, he enlightened the audience about ECO Regional Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction (RFDRR) which envisages an enhanced and inclusive regional cooperation on DRR through improved and integrated mechanisms aimed at dealing with disaster risks and associated issues.
The participants from UN agencies and other global and regional institutions attended the Forum, expressing their receptivity for increasing collaboration and investment on DRR.
