On February 19, 2024, the ECO Secretariat organized a preparatory meeting for
the 1st ECO Tour Operators Forum which is scheduled to take place in Baku in April 2024. The meeting was attended by tourism focal points and the representatives of tour operator’s associations from the ECO Member States.
At the meeting, the ECO Tourism Directorate and the representative of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (host of the Forum) emphasized that the main purpose of the event is to bring tour operators from the ECO Member States together to share their experience and insights for creating partnerships.
The participants also shared their views on the event program, including the scope and content of activities within the Forum, which will include panel discussions on benefitting from the potential of Silk Road tourism destinations, organizing trips to regional tourism destinations, development of joint tour packages, and B2B meetings for tour operators.
