Chairman of the Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. General Rustam Nazarzoda visited the Economic Cooperation Organization on March 5, 2024.
Welcoming General Nazarzoda, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri briefed the dignitary about ECO activities on disaster risk reduction, which is one of the priority areas of the Organization as incorporated in the ECO Vision 2025.
Noting the importance of disaster risk management both within the country and in the regional level and briefing about Tajikistan’s capacity development activities in this connection, General Nazarzoda expressed their readiness to improve collaboration with ECO, and welcomed ECO’s proposal about hosting the 9th Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction in 2024 in Dushanbe.
