A delegation from the Economic Cooperation Organization, led by Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, was received by H.E. Mr. Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan, on June 2, 2024, on the sidelines of the 12th Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers (ICTM) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Ambassador Noziri expressed his gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for inviting the ECO delegation to the event and congratulated Uzbekistan on selecting Khiva city as the Tourism City of the Islamic World for 2024.
The meeting covered the discussions regarding tourism activities within the ECO framework and exchanges of impressions and views on the recent festivities held in Shahrisabz to unveil the city as an ECO Tourism Capital. They also touched on issues related to the upcoming ECO Ministerial Meeting on Environment and the 1st Meeting of the ECO High-Level Dialogue Platform on Environmental Cooperation initiated by the Honourable President of Uzbekistan.
