ECO Secretary General Ambassador Noziri is currently attending the 3rd High-Level International Conference on “Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028” in Dushanbe from June 10 to 13, 2024. The conference aims to accelerate actions towards achieving the Water Action Agenda, vital for supporting globally agreed water-related goals, following commitments made during the UN 2023 Water Conference.

Ambassador Noziri addressed pressing challenges of water scarcity, quality and management in the ECO region, emphasizing the need for sustainable water practices to ensure long-term security. He reaffirmed ECO’s commitment to the Water Action Agenda, collaborating with UN entities, international organizations and other stakeholders.

During the conference, Secretary General Noziri also engaged in discussions with his international counterparts, including the Director General of UNESCO, Secretaries General of CICA, CIS, SCO and ACD, as well as the President of the Islamic Development Bank. The discussions focused on enhancing regional cooperation to address water challenges and promote sustainable development.
