On the initiative of the Lebanese side within the framework of Antalya Diplomacy Forum on March 12, 2022, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the Minister of Economy and Trade of the Republic of Lebanon, H.E. Mr. Amin Salam.
During the meeting, the Minister underlined the scope and opportunities that exist in Lebanon in the areas of energy, water, food and agriculture, healthcare, information and communications technology (ICT). He added that his government published an economic plan, focussing on restructuring the country's financial sector and attracting foreign assistance.
The Secretary General briefed the Minister about some of the ECO areas of activity, especially the core objectives of the organization that are envisaged in the ECO Vision 2025.
The two sides expressed readiness for cooperation between ECO and Lebanon for the promotion of trade and communication, as well as providing opportunities for business development with the ECO Member States.
