On 9-10 October 2024, ECO participated virtually in the 8th North and Central Asia Multi-stakeholder Forum on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by the Sub-regional Office of North and Central Asia of UNESCAP virtually.
Delivering his statement in the panel session titled “Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development”, Dr. Husnu Tekin, Director for HRSD, informed the meeting about the main activities of ECO on SDGs including the Organization’s efforts to enhance global partnership, preparations to develop an Action Plan on Policy Coherence and to convene the 1st Sustainable Development Forum as well as formulation of the SDGs Performance Index for the region.
The event evaluated the progress on the thematic SDGs encompassing Goal 3 (good heath and well being), Goal 5 (gender equality), Goal 8 (decent work and economic growth), Goal 14 (life below water) and Goal 17 (Partnership for the goals)
