Dr. Asad M. Khan, ECO Secretary General, met H.E. Mr. Saif Mohamed Obaid Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Tehran.
The Secretary General briefed the Ambassador on ECO’s key activities, particularly in regional trade and connectivity. He acknowledged the UAE’s leading role in advancing renewable energy and the green energy transition, highlighting its hosting of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), development of Masdar city, and the successful organization of the 28th UNFCCC COP in 2023.
Dr. Khan underscored the importance of fostering closer ties between ECO and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and conveyed interest in exploring avenues for collaboration between two sister organizations.
