H.E. Dr. Asad M. Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Dr. Khan appreciated Azerbaijan for its successful hosting of the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) and for the soft launch of the ECO Clean Energy Centre (CECECO) on November 15, 2024, which took place on the sidelines of the event.
The meeting discussed Azerbaijan’s participation in the ECO Regional Electricity Market (ECO-REM) project, emphasized expediting the operationalization of the ECO Clean Energy Centre and concluded with the sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing regional energy connectivity and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
