Turkistan, Republic of Kazakhstan – 11 September 2026
On the sidelines of the 7th Meeting of the Attorneys/Prosecutors General of the ECO Member States, ECO Secretary General Dr. Asad M. Khan held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Assylov Berik Nogayevich, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 11 September 2026 in Turkistan.
Expressing his deep gratitude to the Secretary General for participating in the 7th Meeting, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan emphasized that the meeting will yield constructive outcomes for strengthening regional cooperation among the ECO Member States in judicial and prosecutorial domain in order to effectively combat transnational organized crimes and also emphasized on the role of ECO Secretariat in this regard.
ECO Secretary General, Dr. Khan, appreciating Kazakhstan very active role in fostering regional cooperation for economic development, congratulated the re-appointment of Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan and conveyed sincere appreciation to the Government of Republic of Kazakhstan sustained attention and valuable contribution to the work of the Organization, particularly for hosting the 7th Meeting of the Attorneys/Prosecutors General of the ECO Member States. He also reaffirmed ECO’s continued support in pursuing the active implementation of ECO projects, as well as organization of regional activities on raising awareness, information sharing and capacity building programmes in judicial and prosecutorial domain.
In the Meeting, both sides further underscored the importance of expanding regional cooperation to develop a vision to address new law enforcement challenges, including cyber-crimes, as well as expressed commitment on advancing judicial and anti-corruption cooperation among ECO Member States.
