The ECO Secretariat, represented by Mr. Can Aygul, Director for Agriculture and Industry, visited the 6th International Exhibition of Rural and Nomadic Capabilities (IRDEXPO) in Tehran as part of the National Event marking Rural and Nomadic Communities Day.
The ECO delegation toured exhibition stands showcasing agricultural products, handicrafts and economic capabilities from Iran’s 31 provinces and met with exhibitors to learn about their activities. Mr. Aygul also met with H.E. Mr. Abdulkarim Hosseinzadeh, Vice President for Rural Development and Deprived Areas of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and briefly exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation in agriculture. Mr. Aygul subsequently signed the exhibition’s commemorative book.
Held from 8 to 11 October 2026, IRDEXPO featured more than 400 booths showcasing provincial products and capabilities, alongside 50 booths dedicated to startups and technology-related activities. The exhibition also highlighted local foods, traditional crafts, regional music and nomadic heritage, underscoring the economic and cultural contributions of Iran’s rural and nomadic communities.
