On the sidelines of the 14th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Transport in Astana, Dr. Asad M. Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), interacted with H.E. Mr. Talantbek Soltobayev, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic; Mr. Osman Boyraz, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye; and Mr. Sylapberdi Nurberdiyev, Deputy Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan.
In his exchanges with the officials, Dr. Asad M. Khan expressed his appreciation for their participation in the Ministerial Meeting and underscored the importance of strengthening regional cooperation in transport and connectivity.
The exchanges covered advancing the ECO Transport Strategy 2026–2035 and the Astana Declaration, enhancing regional transport corridors, improving cross-border connectivity, and strengthening cooperation among ECO Member States to facilitate regional trade and transit.
The engagements provided an opportunity to exchange views on shared priorities and explore ways to further advance transport cooperation within the ECO framework.
