An ECO delegation headed by the Secretary General, Amb. Khusrav NOZIRI attended the 13th Governing Board Meeting of the Regional Centre on Urban Water Management (RCUWM) under the auspices of UNESCO on February 23, 2023, in Tehran. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Khusrav NOZIRI attended the 13th Governing Board Meeting of the Regional Centre on Urban Water Management (RCUWM) under the auspices of UNESCO on February 23, 2023, in Tehran. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Aiming at sustainable water management, water security, environment and water diplomacy, conservation of water resources and development of responsive methods for dealing with climate change, the event brought together a number of high level representatives from regional countries as well as international organizations.
In his statement, the ECO Secretary General highlighted the importance of the sustainable water management and protection of existing water resources in the region. He also appreciated activities and achievements of RCUWM in promoting and facilitating relevant studies, projects, programs, capacity building initiatives and partnerships at regional and international levels.
The event also discussed the objectives and new initiatives of RCUWM with a view to identify and prioritize current issues and future plans related to sustainable water management.
