The new President of the ECO Cultural Institute, H.E. Mr. Sarvar Bakhti assumed the ECI’s presidency on December 30, 2019.
The new President of the ECO Cultural Institute, H.E. Mr. Sarvar Bakhti assumed the ECI’s presidency on December 30, 2019.
While addressing the charge assumption ceremony, the ECO Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Hadi Suleimanpour congratulated Mr. Bakhti for his new assignment, assuring him of ECO’s full patronage to support the ECI’s future course of action with a view to accelerating the cultural progress and activities in the region.
The ECO Secretary General further acknowledged the outstanding services of the institute’s outgoing President Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Mazaheri, appreciating his excellent contributions for the continued development of ECI and its expanded as well as effective cultural engagements.
The event also marked the presence of H.E. Dr. Asharf Boroujerdi, Director General of Iran National Library and Archives and Vice President of Iran, H.E. Gholamereza Ansar, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for Economic Diplomacy, Mr. Ghorban Ali Pourmarjan, H.E. Dr. Derya Örs, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey and Chairman of the Council of Permanent Representatives of ECO, Deputy Chairman of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization for the Development of International Affairs, H.E. Dr. Nizomiddin Zohidi, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Liwal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic Afghanistan.
Other participants of the ceremony, included the representatives of the diplomatic corps in Tehran, including, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Russia, Kyrgyz Republic China, host country’s political and cultural officials, intellectuals, artists and figures of the relevant faculty.
While closing the ceremony, Mr. Sarvar Bakhti valued the presence of all participants and extended his sincere gratitude to the participating dignitaries. He also assured of his best efforts to sustainably promote and broaden the relevant activities and the organization’s cultural agenda in the region.
